The Meals on Wheels Association is the oldest and largest national organization composed of local, community-based nutrition programs. There are some 5,000 local Senior Nutrition Programs in the United States. These programs provide over one million meals to seniors who need them each day. Some programs serve meals at congregate locations like senior centers, some programs deliver meals directly to the homes of seniors whose mobility is limited, and many programs provide both services.

Members of Saint Bart's parish have been actively participating in the program for years, delivering a hot and cold meal to clients in the Bethesda and surrounding neighborhoods. Volunteers meet at the North Chevy Chase Christian Church (off Jones Bridge Road) to receive meals and their delivery assignments.
