* All Early Dismissals are at 12:30 p.m. No lunch is served on early dismissal days. Aftercare is available on early dismissal days until 6:00 p.m.
If we use all of our snow days, we will seek to make up the days within the school year

Catholic Schools Office:
Our school hours are 7:45-3:00 p.m. We have 40 minutes allotted for lunch and recess in the primary grades (K-4) and 35 minutes allotted for lunch and recess in the junior grades (5-8)
We have 1,104 hours of student instruction each year (not including lunch/recess).
We have 88 hours of professional development built in the school calendar including 3 full days of professional development, 20 half days with teacher inservice including beginning of the year and end of the year meetings. The orientation week includes 24 of professional development.
Here is the basic schedule of topics for professional development during half day inservices:
August and September inservice topics:
- ADW requirements-Bloodborne pathogens, Child protection policy review, Writing portfolio instruction.
- Review of Lee Canter Assertive discipline program/ review of discipline policies, procedures and handbook.
- Review of Faculty Handbook
- Schools Attuned video series “General Strategies for teachers for differentiating instruction”.
- Curriculum Mapping review and introduction of software(if we have it available at that time)
- Successful parent teacher conferences and parent communication (Video and materials for instruction).
- ADW professional day scheduled
October inservice topics
- Follow up on Curriculum mapping speaker Heidi Hayes Jacobs.
- Schools Attuned video series “Getting Organized/Work Habits-How to help students get organized and develop good study habits”.
- Follow up on October 18th inservice and continue with Schools Attuned video series, “Getting thoughts on paper-helping students put their thoughts into words”
- ADW professional day scheduled
November inservice topics
- Using alternative assessments to measure skills attained. Use in conjunction with curriculum mapping
- Integrating technology into the curriculum. Teachers share their ideas and work on individual projects.
December inservice topics
- Learning how to write essential questions for curriculum mapping.
- Work on technology projects.
January inservice topics
- Schools Attuned video series, “Behavioral complications” and “ Feelings and motivation videos” Watch and brainstorm ideas how to help these children.
- ASCD series Differentiated instruction-Teachers present plans demonstrating knowledge
February inservice topics
- Update Middle States Web site
- Work on technology lesson plans and share.
- Curriculum Mapping
March inservice topics
- ADW professional day scheduled
April inservice topics
- Follow up to ADW professional day
- Schools Attuned, “Student Output-Producing, Performing, and Communicating” video and discussion.
